noknokk has been built in the open, in phases. This is the dated record — what was delivered in each stage, the stage we're in right now, and what's left before launch.

1. Complete30 July – 3 August 2026

   Phase 1 — Foundation

   The first working version of the idea: an account, a memory, and a private database behind it.

   • Project set up with a secure backend, private data rules and email sign-in
   • The memory record itself — who, where, when and the story
   • First matching engine: memories compared and scored by AI
   • Anonymous match view with names and faces withheld on both sides
   • Messaging that only opens after both people accept
2. Complete4 – 10 August 2026

   Phase 2 — Safety and screening

   Making the platform a safe place to be findable, before making it a place anyone could find.

   • Two-layer screening: an instant filter, then an AI reviewer
   • No adult content, no dating use, nothing sexualising a minor
   • Contact details, addresses and phone numbers stripped before storage
   • Report and block on every profile and conversation
   • Permanent decline, and a Do not contact me switch
3. Complete11 – 17 August 2026

   Phase 3 — Payments and membership

   Free to post and to be told a match exists; a subscription to actually connect.

   • Stripe subscriptions with a pricing page and upgrade prompts
   • Free posting and free match notifications
   • Paid access gates on messaging
   • Confirmation and subscription emails
4. Complete18 – 24 August 2026

   Phase 4 — Owner portal

   A back office so the business can be run without touching the database.

   • Owner-only portal with member, paid-member and waitlist views
   • Moderation queue and staff roles
   • Collaborator invitations, acceptance, withdrawal and removal, with emails
   • Marketing portal, blog editor and campaign composer
   • Document vault holding the legal and IP records
5. Complete25 August – 31 August 2026

   Phase 5 — Name and brand

   Settling the name, the look and the domain after two earlier working titles were set aside.

   • Renamed to noknokk and noknokk.com registered
   • Monochrome cinematic design: cream, ink and a yellow accent
   • Wordmark, imagery and promotional video with voiceover
   • Coming soon page collecting early interest
   • Mailboxes wired through hello@, support@ and admin@noknokk.com
6. Complete1 – 5 September 2026

   Phase 6 — The signature experience

   The part nobody else has: seeing two halves of one memory side by side, and proving it's really you.

   • Two Halves view with every shared detail marked
   • Sealed recognition question — answers hidden until both people reply
   • Dated reconnection keepsake
   • Two front doors: finding family, and finding people
   • Six search guides, launch articles and a full sitemap
   • Legal, privacy, safety and IP documents refreshed in the vault
7. Building now6 – 20 September 2026

   Phase 7 — Pre-launch hardening

   Where we are now: proving every path works end to end and closing the gaps before anyone real arrives.

   • Documented build timeline and an Ask Mem assistant on every page
   • Help centre answering the questions people actually ask
   • Email delivery, invitations and confirmations verified end to end
   • Domain going live on noknokk.com
   • Full pass for responsiveness, accessibility and page speed
   • Legal review of the published terms by an Australian practitioner
8. Ahead21 – 30 September 2026

   Phase 8 — Closed beta

   A small invited group posting real memories, so matching and moderation are tested on real material.

   • Invited members posting genuine memories
   • Match quality reviewed by hand and thresholds tuned
   • Moderation and report flows exercised
   • First reunion stories gathered with permission
   • Payment path tested from checkout to renewal
9. AheadFrom 1 October 2026

   Phase 9 — Public launch

   Doors open, payments live, and the search guides working for us.

   • Open registration and live subscriptions
   • Launch campaign across the connected channels
   • Reunion wall publishing consented stories
   • Support and moderation cover in place from day one
